About The Artist.
Alicia is a contemporary artist working primarily in black and grey realism, known for highly detailed, atmospheric pieces that emphasise depth, texture, and emotional presence. Her work is rooted in a monochromatic approach, using light and shadow to create powerful, timeless imagery that transcends a single subject matter.
Drawn to realism as a form of storytelling, Alicia explores themes of character, resilience, and quiet intensity across a range of subjects—including human figures, animals, and imagined forms. Whether working from life, reference, or imagination, her focus remains consistent: capturing a sense of authenticity and mood rather than surface-level perfection.
Using graphite and charcoal, Alicia’s process is deliberate and meticulous, allowing each piece to develop slowly and organically. Fine textures, subtle tonal transitions, and strong contrast are central to her work, creating images that feel both grounded and evocative. By removing colour, the viewer is invited to engage more deeply with form, expression, and narrative.
Influenced by classical realism and contemporary dark fantasy aesthetics, Alicia’s art exists at the intersection of technical precision and creative interpretation. Her work aims to honour detail, embrace imperfection, and create images that feel enduring—pieces that invite the viewer to pause, look closer, and connect.

Studying the Applied Arts degree has been a transformative experience for me. I entered the degree the foundational art skills, a passion to learn more, and develop my art style. I emerged having developed various creative disciplines, including graphic design, fashion and ceramic skills. The hands-on projects and collaborative environment allowed me refine my artistic abilities and develop my unique style. I now feel in my skills and prepared to pursue a career the creative industry.
